Card game

KongNet is Hong Kong’s first local card game deck featuring local cultures. The aims of our card game are to preserve local culture, connect people, spread out happiness and raise people’s awareness on social issues. We see the importance of communication and interaction and we also see the lack of them in nowadays’ society. We hope, the card game allows our customers to have a joyful time with their family and friends, connects youngsters and the elderly by introducing the culture elements of their generation to each other and creates common topics between them for future communication and discussion beyond the game. Our card game features 4 local cultural elements and they are local food, slangs, traditions and some social issues, which we called local hashtags. The card game is 100% original and all graphic designs are designed by our in-house designer and the game itself has been tested and modified for many times to ensure a joyful playing experience. We also embedded the element of playing cards into our card game so that our customers can play numerous of games with our product, KongNet. Apart from the all-in-one designs, we also have a QR Code printed on the package. By scanning it, customers will be directed to our official webpage where they can find short bilingual explanations of different local cultures we introduced in the card game. Both Chinese and English version of our game rules is also included.

The Meaning of cards:

The file - Income Inequality

The file - Eating Peanuts

Income Inequality is a severe social problem in Hong Kong but we seldom talk about it in recent years. Our designer wants to satirize how powerful the rich people are in our society by creating a great contrast between the rich and the poor. While customers may smile when they see the rich man in our design can manipulate typhoons, we also hope they know that there are still people living under the poverty line who work endlessly, helplessly and hopelessly just to survive.

"Eating Peanuts" is a modern slangs in Hong Kong. In our design, we combine the cultural elements of two generations and hope our customers will be cheered up while working or studying. We also borrow the idea of a slogan from Yakult and hope to create resonance in different generations. At the back of our file design, our designer brings the famous song "Pineapple pen" and the local food--buttered pineapple bun together and created a cute character. We believe understanding other's cultures is a big step of communication.
